Weather forecast, accurate the world over

Just to make you all feel better at home, we were forecast heavy snow yesterday. The world as we knew it was about to cease and Kabul would become a winter wonderland!!

Well, we Brits love to chat about the weather, wherever we are and usually at the expense of the hapless weather forecaster, and Kabul is no different.

It rained all day yesterday, not a hint of snow in the air.

I would not mention this but we are getting the jitters about the snow. We escape on Saturday, weather permitting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah Monsieur Le Quinney

Yet another missive from your (and, it would appear, only) loyal reader. Weather here is dull and dismal. Shops here are also full of Xmas tat - so no change there.

You live a strange life if you think R would like me wearing a Burkha,- I know you lane enders (in bred, single mums - though not in your case, obviously) live in some sort of strange and rather unsavoury fantasy world, but that is a step too far. Whats wrong with nurses uniforms, schoolgirls etc?

Am disappointed at the lack of snow in Kabul - is there a skiing resort just up the mountains to which you could go if the snow does fall, or would you be more likely to step on a cunningly concealed land mine and end up single leg snowboarding instead?

Looking forward to seeing you when you are back - please feel free to contact your user friendly instrument of the fascist state to arrange game of racketball.

Have a safe joourney home
